About the Opportunity
The Operator will be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the pneumatic tube system. This includes dispatching tubes to different hospital areas, responding to telephonic requests, handling specimens and medical reports, and ensuring smooth functioning of the tube distribution service. Accuracy and careful handling are essential due to the sensitive nature of the transported materials.
Who Can Apply and Requirements
- Minimum qualification: Grade 9 or General Education and Training Certificate (GETC, also known as Standard 7)
- Relevant practical experience in a pneumatic tube station environment is required
- Knowledge of tube distribution services
- Good written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work shifts, including early morning hours starting from 06:30, and weekends as needed
Job Location and Salary
This vacancy is based at Tygerberg Hospital located in Parow Valley, Western Cape. The annual salary range for this position is between R170,226 and R200,523.
