About the Opportunity
The Operator will be responsible for the smooth operation and dispatching of the pneumatic tubes between different hospital departments. Key tasks include responding to telephonic queries, handling medical documentation, reporting system faults, and ensuring safe transport of laboratory specimens.
Who Can Apply
This position is suited for individuals who have completed at least Grade 9 or hold a General Education and Training Certificate (GETC) and have practical experience working with pneumatic tube stations, particularly in environments involving sensitive medical materials.
Requirements
- General Education and Training Certificate (GETC) or Grade 9 (Standard 7) qualification
- Relevant experience in pneumatic tube station operations
- Familiarity with tube distribution services
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and maintain attention to detail
- Willingness to work shifts starting from 06:30 and work weekends as required
Position Details and Working Conditions
The role requires shift work, including early mornings and weekends. Candidates should be comfortable with these conditions before applying. The salary range for this Grade 9 position is between R170,226 and R200,523 per annum.
