The Government Printing Works (GPW) is currently accepting applications for its 2027 Graduate Internship Programme, offering 45 internship positions to unemployed South African graduates. This 24-month internship aims to provide practical work experience aligned with academic qualifications across various professional fields.
About the Internship Programme
The GPW Graduate Internship Programme runs for two years, allowing interns to gain hands-on experience within their respective fields alongside seasoned professionals. A monthly stipend of R8,174.75 will be provided to successful candidates. Most internship placements are located in Pretoria, Gauteng, while two are based in East London, Eastern Cape.
Who Can Apply?
- Applicants must be South African citizens.
- They must be unemployed graduates who have not previously participated in any internship programme.
- Relevant qualifications matching the internship applied for are required.
- Separate applications must be submitted for each internship position.
Available Internship Fields and Positions
The 45 internship positions cover a broad array of disciplines, including:
- Finance and Financial Accounting
- Human Resources Management and Development
- Supply Chain and Logistics Management
- Information Technology and Digitalization
- Engineering fields including Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, and Mechatronic
- Public Administration and Management
- Communications, Marketing, and Media Studies
- Law, Contract Management, and Litigation
- Occupational Health and Safety
- Graphic Design and Desktop Publishing
- Risk Management, Internal Audit, and Investigations
Most positions are offered in Pretoria; however, Sales internships are available in East London.
Application Requirements
Applicants need to submit the following:
- A completed and signed new Z83 application form.
- A detailed CV.
Initial applications should not include certified copies of certificates or supporting documents. Shortlisted candidates will be requested to present certified copies before or on the day of the interview. When applying electronically, the combined size of attachments must not exceed 2MB, and applicants should avoid unsupported file formats such as pictures or ZIP files.

Applicants must ensure they apply for the correct internship title and reference number, submitting separate applications for each desired position. Applications can be hand-delivered to Government Printing Works at 389 Sophie De Bruyn Street, Pretoria, Gauteng. Note that fax applications will not be accepted.
The closing date for submissions is 19 October 2026. Hand-delivered applications close at 16:00, while online applications close at 23:59 on the same day.
