The Gauteng Tourism Authority (GTA) is accepting applications for its 2026 Creative Digital Design & Content Production Internship Programme. This two-year internship provides graduates with practical experience within GTA’s digital communications division, focusing on content creation for tourism marketing and brand engagement.
About the Internship
The internship offers a temporary 24-month contract and a monthly stipend ranging from R6,000 to R7,000. It is designed for graduates with qualifications in Digital Media, Multimedia Design, Graphic Design, Digital Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Film and Television Production, Public Relations, or related disciplines.
The role involves comprehensive involvement in digital content production, including graphic design, video and podcast creation, social media management, website content updates, and digital analytics. Interns will contribute to storytelling and marketing campaigns that promote Gauteng’s tourism sector, investment prospects, events, and attractions.
Who Can Apply
Applicants must hold a National Diploma or Degree in one of the relevant fields mentioned. Candidates are expected to have practical skills with digital content production tools, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Adobe Audition) and Canva. A portfolio demonstrating relevant creative projects is highly recommended.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and designing multimedia content aligned with GTA’s brand messaging and campaigns.
- Supporting video production and editing for social media, events, and promotional material.
- Assisting with podcast production, such as research, scripting, recording coordination, and digital content distribution.
- Managing website and mobile app content updates and optimization.
- Monitoring digital audience engagement and providing analytic reports to support decision-making.
- Supporting event coverage and stakeholder communications through real-time digital content.
Location and Duration
The internship takes place in Gauteng and runs for 24 months. This extended period offers a broad exposure across multiple digital media disciplines within the tourism sector.
