Internship Locations and Reporting Departments
All internships are based at Bushbuckridge Local Municipality’s Head Office in Mpumalanga, with the Entrepreneurship internships specifically located at the Information Centre. Interns will report to relevant departmental managers such as the General Manager of Technical Services for Civil Engineering, the Fleet Manager for Mechanical Engineering, the Manager of Fire, Rescue and Disaster Management for Disaster and Safety Management, and the LED Manager for Entrepreneurship.
Key Duties and Learning Opportunities
- Civil Engineering interns will assist with construction activities, site inspections, surveying, and monitoring infrastructure projects.
- Mechanical Engineering interns will support maintenance and repair of municipal machinery and fleet, including equipment inspections and troubleshooting.
- Disaster and Safety Management interns will engage in workplace safety, risk assessments, emergency preparedness, and fire-prevention exercises.
