Aspen Pharma Group is currently seeking applicants for the role of General Assistant within its Production Department. This opportunity is ideal for candidates holding a Matric certificate or equivalent, with minimal to no prior experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
About the Opportunity
The General Assistant will support daily production activities by assisting with equipment checks, material handling, cleaning, inspections, and record keeping under the guidance of the Production Team Leader. This role involves adhering strictly to quality and safety standards to ensure compliance with pharmaceutical manufacturing protocols.
Who Can Apply and Requirements
- Educational Qualifications: Applicants must have one of the following – National Certification (N3), Matric, National Senior Certificate (NSC), or NQF Level 4.
- Experience: Between 0 to 2 years in a related field; prior manufacturing experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Skills Needed: Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical production processes, workplace safety, compliance, and use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Work Approach: Ability to follow instructions carefully and perform tasks aligned with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing production areas and materials, including dispensing and weighing raw materials.
- Conducting routine equipment and production area inspections before and during manufacturing processes.
- Maintaining cleanliness of workstations and equipment to avoid contamination.
- Keeping accurate production records and supporting administrative tasks related to batch reporting and equipment effectiveness.
- Identifying operational issues and communicating them according to company procedures.
