JICS Invites Applications for Independent Correctional Centre Visitor Positions Across South Africa in 2026

The Judicial Inspectorate for Correctional Services (JICS) is currently accepting applications for Independent Correctional Centre Visitor (ICCV) posts at various correctional centres nationwide. This opportunity targets Grade 12 (Matric) holders interested in gaining experience in public administration, community oversight, and complaints management within the correctional services sector.

About the Opportunity

ICCVs play a vital role in independently monitoring the conditions and treatment of inmates, addressing complaints, and ensuring transparency at correctional centres. These positions are contract-based, offering a 36-month term with a salary of R89,046 per annum plus 37% in lieu of benefits. Notably, a tertiary qualification is not required, making this accessible to matriculants with the right skills and community engagement.
