iMas Insurance Learnership Programme 2026 – Gauteng and Mpumalanga Opportunities

iMas Insurance Brokers, a division of iMasFinance Co-operative, is offering three learnership programmes in South Africa for unemployed youth interested in the insurance sector. These learnerships provide formal training, practical workplace experience, and an NQF Level 4 Insurance Qualification over 12 months.

About the Learnership Programmes

The programme focuses on both Long-Term and Short-Term Insurance, allowing participants to gain knowledge and skills in sales, administration, customer service, and insurance products. The learnerships combine classroom learning with on-the-job coaching and mentoring, aiming to prepare unemployed Matric holders for careers in the insurance industry.

Available Programmes and Locations

  • Long-Term Insurance Learnership – Centurion, Gauteng: Practical experience in sales and/or administration related to life insurance products.
  • Long-Term Insurance Learnership – Secunda, Mpumalanga: Similar to the Centurion long-term insurance pathway with exposure to sales and administration.
  • Short-Term Insurance Learnership – Centurion, Gauteng: Focuses on telesales and customer service within a call-centre environment for non-life insurance.

Who Can Apply?

This learnership targets unemployed South Africans who have completed Grade 12 and are not currently registered for studies or involved in other workplace programmes such as other learnerships, internships, or the YES Programme. Preference is given to individuals from designated groups and candidates with disabilities.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics and/or Accounting passed.
  • Must currently be unemployed.
  • Not registered for any other studies or enrolled in workplace learning programmes.
  • Available to start immediately.

Programme Benefits

  • 12-month fixed-term contract.
  • Monthly allowance of R6,000.
  • Structured theoretical training and practical workplace experience.
  • Mentoring and coaching throughout the programme.
  • Insurance Qualification at NQF Level 4 upon successful completion.

Understanding the Insurance Fields

The long-term insurance learnership involves working with products related to life risks and financial protection, focusing on sales or administration roles. The short-term insurance programme, on the other hand, centres on customer service and sales in areas like vehicle, property, or other asset insurance within a call centre.
