International SOS is offering an internship programme for students and recent graduates interested in quality management, occupational health and safety, compliance, auditing, and healthcare operations. This internship provides practical work experience within the company’s Quality, Health & Safety Compliance team based in Johannesburg, Gauteng.
About the Internship
The Quality Internship Program offers hands-on exposure to various aspects of quality management systems, including ISO standards, internal auditing, compliance reporting, data analysis, document control, and continuous improvement. Participants will gain valuable insight into how quality and safety standards are maintained and monitored in an international medical services environment.
Who Can Apply
This opportunity is open to candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Have completed Grade 12.
- Are currently studying towards or have recently completed a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree.
- Relevant fields of study include, but are not limited to: Quality Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Business Management, Health Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, and Industrial Psychology.
- Applicants with up to one year of relevant experience are also welcome. This includes internships, volunteer work, academic projects, or any practical exposure related to quality, safety, compliance, or healthcare.

What To Expect
Interns will work alongside the Quality, Health & Safety team to support a variety of functions:
- Maintaining Quality Management System documentation and compliance records.
- Document control including filing and archiving important quality documents.
- Coordination of internal audits and management of audit evidence.
- Tracking and following up on corrective and preventive actions identified during audits.
- Gathering and consolidating operational compliance data, assisting with reporting and dashboard development.
- Supporting health and safety induction and training programmes.
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and team projects.
- Providing administrative support such as meeting documentation and action tracking.
Applicants with skills or exposure to advanced Excel, Power BI, SharePoint, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, or Internal Auditor training will have an advantage but these are not mandatory.
