  • National Diploma in Civil Engineering
  • Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine

Applications for other study fields will not be considered.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must be South African citizens pursuing or intending to pursue one of the supported study fields in the 2027 academic year. The programme primarily targets previously disadvantaged individuals from impoverished and rural communities. Women and persons with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply.

Application Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Achieve a minimum Level 6 (70–79%) in Mathematics and Physical Science.
  • Be enrolled or intending to enrol in one of the specified programmes.
  • Submit a completed LDARD bursary application form along with certified copies of identification and academic results.

Note that those still awaiting university acceptance letters or final exam results can apply while awaiting these documents. However, acceptance and results will need to be presented following LDARD’s submission instructions.

Location and Deadline

This bursary is offered within the Limpopo province, South Africa. Applications must be submitted by 30 October 2026 at 16:00. Late submissions will not be accepted.

How to Apply

The bursary application form can be downloaded from the official LDARD website. Completed forms and supporting documents must be sent to:

Head of Department
Department of Agriculture and Rural Development
69 Biccard Street
Private Bag X9487
Polokwane, 0700

Applicants should follow the form instructions carefully and keep copies of all submitted documents.

Important Considerations Before Applying

Prospective applicants are advised to research their chosen careers thoroughly using available qualification and career resources. Meeting the bursary’s criteria is separate from gaining university admission, so applying for university independently and early is vital.

Students are encouraged to explore additional funding avenues and career development programmes offered by various SETAs, including AgriSETA, for a holistic pathway in agriculture-related careers.
